Calendar Survey

Calendar

The Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission (JLARC), the staff research agency for the Virginia General Assembly, is surveying parents about school calendars, with a focus on year-round calendars.

This survey presents an opportunity for parents to share their views on school calendars with the General Assembly.

The survey should require less than 5 minutes to complete and will be a valuable part of JLARC’s study of year-round schools.

About Us

Goochland County Public Schools are located in central Virginia, just west of Richmond, along the I-64 corridor, bordering against the James River. We serve around 2400 students in a preK-12 program dedicated to academic excellence and career preparation needs for all students.

We support strong communication between the classroom and families through our teacher blogs since 2005. Since 2004, Goochland has been using the PowerSchool student information system which allows parents to gain access to student grades and attendance records. Likewise, secondary students can log in to check their progress throughout the year.

Goochland was accredited by AdvancED (for the second time at the district-level) in April, 2012.
