I am a native of Goochland County. I graduated from Goochland High School. I have been in Goochland my entire career as a teacher and then administrator. I believe that it is important to give back to the community that supported you.
I am married to Vivian Hopkins and we have one daughter, Caroline, who is a student at Goochland High School.
I believe that each child is a unique and special individual who needs a nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment in which to learn and grow. I believe that it is important that we as educators establish high expectations of ourselves and others so that we can assist them in realizing that failure is not an option. Although cliche, the children are our future and we need to teach them well so that they become respectful and responsible citizens of their community as well as the world.
