I am very passionate about teaching children as evidenced by my love for the profession. I believe as times change in education and we face greater challenges, we need to personalize learning more for students in order to make it more exciting and relevant. When this occurs, our students will achieve with greater successl. When we invest in higher expectations for all children, we enable them to rise to the occasion and perform to their fullest potential.

I began my teaching career at Randolph Elementary School as a 3rd grade teacher. Afterwards, I taught 3rd grade at Kanawha Elementary in Goochland. Then I became a Reading Specialist and Title1 Resource Teacher at Goochland Elem. for grades K-5.

In 1995, I became an assistant principal in Fluvanna County. Then I served as a K-2 Principal at Cunningham Elementary before serving as principal of 3 elementary schools concurrently in Fluvanna. I returned to Goochland Elementary as principal from 2003-09 and transitioned to Randolph Elementary where I served as principal from 2010-12.
