Goochland Elementary School wrapped up National Children’s Book Week today with a celebratory Harley Davidson motorcycle ride by our principal, Mrs. Gordon. Over the course of the last week, students at GES have pledged to turn off the TV and open a good book. With over 90% student and teacher participation, we hope to have read at least 3,500 additional minutes last week alone! GES also enjoyed Celebrity Reading Day with members of our community stopping by to share their love of reading with students. In addition, the PTA organized a book drive that collect six, 18 gallon bins of books. The books will be distributed to local organizations over the holiday season. Thank you to everyone who participated in making our Book Week a huge success!
