GES Spelling BEE

On December 17th, students from GES participated in the annual Spelling Bee. One student from each class, in grades first - fifth participated. It was a great Spelling Bee. All students that won their classroom bees did a wonderful job.
Principal, Mrs. Gordon gave a great welcome and Mrs. Hodges went over the Spelling Bee rules and guidelines.
The Spelling Bee pronouncer was Mrs. Ray. Judges for the competition were Mrs. Casteel, Mr. Jackson and Ms. Watts.

Our winners were:

  • First Place: Emma - 4th Grade
  • Second Place: Meagan - 5th Grade
  • Third Place: Annie - 5th Grade

  • All contestants and families were invited to a reception following the Spelling Bee.

    Winners will compete in the county wide Spelling Bee on January 19, 2010 at 6:30pm at Goochland Middle/High School Auditorium.

    DRIVE-IN THEATRE CANCELLATION

    Due to the heavy rains today, the GES PTA fundraiser at the Drive-In in Hadensville has been postponed until the new year in 2010.

    Winter in the Country

    This year’s program “Winter in the Country” will be presented by GES students. The program was written by our very own music teacher, Ms. Watts. Students have been preparing for weeks and are ready to show off all their hard work. Please plan on coming out to see this great holiday treat!!
    All students in K - 3rd grade and all 4th & 5th grade students in the chorus are asked to arrive to GHS by 6:40 pm. The program will promptly begin at 7:00pm. K & 1 students will meet in the GHS LMC, 2 & 3 students will meet in the cafeteria, and 4 & 5 students will meet behind the stage.
    Parents are asked to pick up their students in the same place they dropped off prior to the program start.
