Be Prepared To Be Scared!

Tonight, from 7 to 9p.m., the Theater students will host a Haunted Tour. Students are pulling all the stops to make this your scariest visit to GHS.

Tickets will be sold at the door for $3. The event is not recommended for small children. Strobe lights will be in use.

H1N1 Vaccination Clinic Delayed

The H1N1 vaccination clinics scheduled at GCPS schools for the upcoming week have been cancelled due to insufficient availability of the vaccine.

The clinic for preschool age children scheduled for Monday, October 26 will be held at the Specialty Center, starting at 9:00a.m. All other clinics will be rescheduled when the vaccine becomes available.

Upcoming Events

The first marking period ends this week, and on Monday students will be released early. Teachers will be hard at work during the afternoon to finalize grades and set goals for the next marking period.  Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday.

Please take time to review grades and comments, and contact teachers with any questions. Parents will have the opportunity to discuss student progress in depth at the upcoming parent-teacher conferences on November 12. We hope to see you then.

H1N1 Vaccines

All GHS students will bring home a letter and a permission form on Wednesday, October 14, regarding upcoming flu vaccination clinics.

The Chickahominy Health District, in partnership with GCPS, will provide H1N1 vaccinations free of charge. In order to participate, students must return the completed form to school.

Busy Wednesday

On Wednesday, October 14, GHS will have a busy day.

Students will be taking their PSAT and Explore tests. Seniors will leave school at 8:30 to go bowling in Short Pump. At the end of the day, students with tickets will get to see this year’s participants in the Lip Sync contest. 

Senior Information Night

The GHS Guidance Office invites seniors and their parents to Senior Information Night on Thursday, October 8, at 6:30p.m at the GHS Media Center. Join us to learn about the college application process and scholarship opportunities. Get advice on writing college essays and getting letters of recommendation. We will share a wealth of resources available online and through our Career Center.

Pencils, Anyone?

Students who have lost, broken, or used up their pencils can now get replacements at the LMC. For 25 cents, students can purchase a new #2 pencil.
