Western Civilizations, (Coffin & Stacey, W.W. Norton, 2008). The Coffin & Stacey text is written in an engaging style that is more accessible to high school-age students, has very clear organization (including several focus questions per chapter that mirror AP free-response questions), and does a better job of tying European history in with global history in the post-World War II era, which is important when discussing topics such as de-colonization and the European Union. It also includes a wide range of full color pictures and maps, along with excerpts from primary sources.

A Memorial Service for senior Billy Maxwell will be held in the Goochland High School auditorium at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 25.  The service will be open to students, faculty, staff, and the community at large.

Our thoughts go out to Billy’s friends and family during this difficult time. 

It is hard to believe we’re already halfway through the first marking period. Look for interim reports on Thursday, September 23rd.
