THE GOOCHLAND HIGH SCHOOL BAND ROCKS!!!!!!

If you have never experienced the music that emanates from our GHS band, you have been missing out. I cannot explain how wonderfully moving this experience is. And, for me, the experience is all the more special because I’ve known most, if not all, of these students since they were in sixth grade. I feel honored to have witnessed them growing into the young adults they have chosen to become.

Thank you, Mr. Sykes, for sending your students over to ask me to come listen this morning. I could not think of a better way to begin a Friday morning at the GHS/GMS complex.

IMPORTANT

What is the “Cinnamon Challenge”?

A potentially deadly game where people try to swallow a spoonful of cinnamon in 60 seconds without drinking anything. Seems innocent enough so how can it become deadly? Cinnamon is not absorbed by the body without water so you end up coughing out or, worse, inhaling a lot of the cinnamon. The particles of cinnamon get trapped in your lungs causing breathing problems or possible suffocation. Please click on the link below to view the video.
