8th grade “Moving On” events
Saturday, June 5th: 8th grade dance hosted by the PTA! Thank you to all teachers who have signed up for the kiss the pig contest to help the PTA fundraise for this event! Permission slips will be given out the week before the dance.
Monday, June 7th (7-9 p.m.): Moving-On Ceremony held in the auditorium followed by a reception hosted by the PTA in the cafeteria. I encourage all teachers to attend this event to support our 8th grade class!
Wednesday June 9th (9-6 p.m.): Kings Dominion Field Trip!! I’m so excited for our 2nd annual trip to KD! We had a great time last year, and I’m sure we will this year! Permission slips, and medical forms will be handed out in homerooms in the beginning of May. Students have until May 28th to turn in all forms and payments to me, so please allow them to come before/during homeroom. Tickets cost $30, or students may use a season pass if they have one. We are covering all expenses for buses thanks to our Halloween dance! Unlike last year, we will NOT be giving free tickets to students that receive 600s on their SOLs. Unfortunately, we just don’t have the money for this. We will be meeting in the cafeteria around 8:30, and leaving around 9:00. We will return to school at 6:00 pm that day.
