4th Grade Explorers

Miss Brown’s fourth grade “Endeavor” group has been conducting research on the planet Mars.  The students used many of the school’s resources including encyclopedias, reference books, and online databases.  They also communicated with Dr. C., an online expert from NASA!

What a Trip!

The Book Fair Safari has been an amazing trip!  Thank you to the RES students, volunteers, friends, families, faculty, & staff for making this the most successful book fair we’ve ever had!

Book Fair Safari

Harry Hyena and Wally Warthog show off some of the WILD, wonderful books available at the Book Fair Safari.

The students were WILD for the Book Fair Safari at the Student Preview Day on Tuesday, November 11th!  Our thanks go out to the amazing number of volunteers who were able to help the students make their Wish Lists and browse the gigantic assortment of books available for purchase.  We truly appreciate all that our volunteers do for our school.

Don’t forget to check out our list of special Book Fair Safari events!  You can find more information about the Book Fair Safari on the RES Library Learners blog.  Thank you for making this school FUNdraiser possible!

RES Mock Election ‘08

RES Mock Election Day began with an assembly in the cafeteria to meet the “candidates” and their spouses.  The patriotic assembly began with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Then music teacher, Miss Holzbach, led the group in singing the Star Spangled Banner.  After introductions, each presidential candidate gave a brief speech.

At lunchtime, the students were invited to participate in the electoral process by voting for the candidate of their choice.  The results were tallied and announced at the end of the day.  Senator John McCain won the RES Mock Election by 4 votes.
