Congratulations Class of 2009!

The RES Class of 2009 gathers together on the playground for one final photo.

Mr. Austin welcomes friends and families to the RES 5th grade graduation ceremony.  He reminds them of his favorite phrase:  “Once a Roadunner, always a Roadrunner!”

Future middle schoolers smile as they enjoy their last moments as 5th graders.

Field Day - June 11

Be sure to mark your calendars—Field Day has been moved to Thursday, June 11th.

Best Wishes!

After more than 30 years in the classroom, Mrs. Regina Howell and Mrs. Deloris Shelton will be retiring from Goochland County Public Schools.  Their hard work and dedication have left lasting impressions on our school community.  The RES students, teachers, and administration are grateful to Mrs. Howell and Mrs. Shelton for all that they have done.  Best wishes to them in their new ventures!

2009 Summer Reading Program

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

As in years past, Goochland County Public Schools has compiled a suggested summer reading list for students in grades K-8.  This list along with participation in the Pamunkey Regional Library Summer Reading Program will provide students with an opportunity to improve their literacy skills over the summer.

In an effort to save cost and paper, we will not be mass-producing this list for every student in the County.  Rather, the list will be available electronically from the school website.  In addition, master copies of the list will be available at the Goochland YMCA and Pamunkey Regional Library.

If you would like to request a hard copy of the suggested summer reading list, you may contact our office at (804) 556-5385 or Central Office at (804) 556-5630 and we will gladly copy the list for you.

Thank you in advance for encouraging your student to read over the summer and participate in the Pamunkey Regional Library Summer Reading Program.

Sincerely,
Mr. Stacey Austin
RES Principal
