Teacher of the Week:  Susan Vaughan

Congratulations to Library-Media Specialist, Susan Vaughan, for earning the RES Teacher of the Week! Mrs. Sue Vaughan is RES Teacher of the Week for November 14 -18. We are so proud to have Mrs. Vaughan as our Library Media Specialist. She consistently strives to develop the "love for reading" within all students. She purchases books as soon as they hit shelves in order to bring great novels, mysteries, real-life, and fiction stories to our students. Mrs. Vaughan coordinates with classroom teachers to provide materials and books for specific units the children are studying. Mrs. Vaughan was instrumental in bringing "Reading Olympics" to the elementary schools several years ago. Each year she is very active in coaching teams of 4th and 5th grade students for the competitions that are held each Spring. Mrs. Vaughan receives credit for the wonderful Scholastic Book Fairs she brings to our school. She is currently preparing for our Fall Book Fair, which will begin this week. We encourage students, teachers, and parents to visit our Media Center where "Reading Is Out of This World." Thank you, Sue, for a job well done! ~ Mrs. Dianna Gordon, RES Principal For more information on what's happening in Mrs. Vaughan's library classes, please visit the RES Library Learners blog.

Teacher of the Week: Cindy Edmonds

Congratulations to Art teacher, Mrs. Cindy Edmonds, the RES Teacher of the Week!

Randolph Students are privileged to have a teacher like Mrs. Edmonds who provides art instruction in such an imaginative and creative way. Visiting her art class is always so exciting. The beautiful student work scattered throughout our building is so invigorating. Mrs. Edmonds makes maximum use of her instructional time and works beautifully within the time frame of our daily schedules.  She utilizes numerous resources to enhance understanding, and provides enrichment materials regularly. Students are so engaged in hands-on activities which aid in their mastery of the concepts. Art is a subject students definitely don’t want to miss! ~Mrs. Dianna Gordon, RES Principal
