  • Transition to Middle School Meeting

    Parent Night at GMS
    On February 28, 2012, in the GHS auditorium from 6 p.m.-7 p.m., parents will have the opportunity to talk with GMS faculty about the transition to 6th grade, course selection, and to ask questions. After the information session, the building will be open for self-guided tours in an “open house” venue. Students are welcome to attend.

    Transition to Middle School Meeting

    5th Grade Parent Night
    Goochland Middle School welcomes parents and students on February 28, from 6 to 7p.m. for a brief presentation and informal open house. Teachers, administrators, and counselors will be available to answer your questions about the transition from 5th to 6th grade.

    Calendar Input

    Parents: We are in the process of developing the 2012-13 school calendar. Your feedback is important. Please take a few minutes and complete this survey if you would like to provide input regarding next year’s school calendar. We will collect feedback until Friday, February 24, 2012.

    Help 1st Grade Help the Environment

    WHO:  Randolph Elementary First Grade

    WHAT:  Raise money to buy two rain barrels for the RES courtyard

    WHERE: Donations can be made at Spaghetti Dinner Night or placed in any of the mini rain barrels around the school.

    WHEN:  All donations must be in by February 17th.

    WHY: Help us make the courtyard a better place and help RES conserve water.

    PTA After-School Classes

    The RES PTA will offer after-school classes taught by GCPS teachers, parents, and outside vendors.  These classes are fun, active and interesting!  They offer a break from regular afternoon routines, while also providing a safe learning environment.

    The PTA classes will be held from 3:15-4:15 PM on February 21, February 28, March 6 & March 13. Children need to be picked up promptly from their designated classroom at 4:15 PM and signed out with the teacher.

    All classes are $35, with the exception of “Mad Science” ($45) The total cost for each class includes supplies (with the exception of “Beginning Violin Ensemble” - you will have to rent or bring your own violin to participate).

    *Snacks are not included.  Please pack a snack for your child.

    Forms were sent home with students.  If you want to sign up, please return the form and payment by Friday, February 10.
