**UPDATE: Heroes of History Day has been POSTPONED. We will let you know when it will be rescheduled.
In the past, students have been encouraged to research a famous American and share what they learned on Famous American Day. This year, the RES History Committee has decided to improve upon this idea and create a Heroes of History Day.
Students will be asked to research and share what they learned about a specific Hero of History on Friday, February 19th. These heroes do not have to be American but must be someone that is studied between Kindergarten and 5th grade in the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs). Students may choose to research a hero that is from any History SOL in grades K-5.
Students will be given more specific instructions from their teachers. Information on these heroes is available through reading biographies, researching on online encyclopedias (Grolier Online), reading nonfiction material, and more.
