Summer STEM Camp

Think, Plan, Create - 21st Century Skills in Use!
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics!
If you love learning about these things, then this is the camp for you!
In this camp, students will be exposed to a different strand of engineering each day, including civil, mechanical, and electrical. Sample activities include: examining different types of bridge construction, investigating simple machines, and constructing electrical fuses. Lots of other hands- on engineering skills will be incorporated into each day! On the last day of learning, students will launch their learning out of this world!
When: July 16th – 19th
Where: Goochland Elementary School
Time: 8:00 - 11:30 AM
Transportation: Bus transportation is available if needed (will follow the summer school bus schedule)
Who: Rising 5th and 6th Grade Students
Cost: $40.00 for the Week. Money will be due on acceptance to camp. You will be notified by May 29th of your acceptance.
If You Would Like to Participate: Fill out the attached application and return it to your child’s school by Tuesday, May 31st. Along with the application, the student is to write a brief essay “Why I Love Math and Science!” Be sure to attach this to your application. All students who meet these requirements will be put into a lottery for the class slots. There are 36 spaces available.
