Math Training for GCPS Teachers

As introduced at the previous school board meeting by Dr. Stephen Geyer, Goochland will be offering math professional development for teachers here in Goochland.

This professional development series was designed by GCPS’s own teachers and experts in the area of mathematics instruction. In response to the state’s revisions to the Standards of Learning, this workshop series is aimed at ensuring comprehensive understanding of the increased rigors associated with 21st century expectations.

Specifically, teachers will focus on designing and delivering instruction that allows for student command of the “why” and the “how” associated with grade level math concepts.

GCPS will offer this training series on the following afternoons from 3:45-4:45pm: September 13, October 10, November 3 and January 25.
