We just can’t seem to catch a break with the weather. Recognizing that this series of winter storms may not be at an end, the transportation department has developed Alternate Bus Routes for use when primary roads are safe, but secondary roads are not.
We have contacted by telephone all parents whose children would meet the bus at an alternate location. This will eliminate the need for our buses to travel secondary roads that are commonly impassable or unsafe in winter weather.
If the school closing or delay announcement includes “Alternate Routes,” those students who have been assigned an alternate pick-up/drop-off point will use that alternate location.
Parents: If you were not contacted by transportation staff, it means your student’s pick-up/drop-off will not change.
If you have questions about an assigned Alternate Route, please call the transportation department at 556-5361.
As always, safety of our students is paramount, be it in the classroom or on our school buses. Please continue to bear with us as we get through this very unique winter.
