Goochland posts plan for potential flu outbreak

Today, 29 April 2009, Goochland County Public Schools is making available its Pandemic Flu Response Plan for the school division. This document is available on our school board page, and directly as a PDF file for download.

From the document:

In the event of an influenza pandemic, the operations of the Goochland County Public Schools (GCPS) will be altered. Delivery of instruction to students will need to be ensured through unconventional methods as schools will be closed pursuant to the Chickahominy District Health Director. This Superintendent’s regulation outlines the specific procedures that GCPS staff will implement in preparation for this eventuality.

GCPS will be making use of all forms of communication should a pandemic affect central Virginia. These include information on our website, the use of school messenger, letters home, and announcements made through all avenues of the local media.

If you have questions about this plan, please contact Mr. Peter Gretz, assistant superintendent for Goochland County Public Schools.
