WhatWhat is a Wiki? How often we get asked! A wiki-wiki is a style, or type of webpage that allows users to easily edit the content right within the browser, without having to learn more complicated HTML, scripts, etc. Wikis usually employ some design of wiki-text that allows formatting. In this particular wiki, called PM Wiki, some of the hints for text formatting appear at the bottom of a text-box when you are editing a page. Wikis allow folks to collaborate through online documents. Wikis can also include links to other wiki pages, and websites elsewhere, multimedia such as Quicktime movies or graphics, and even standard documents such as a PDF. This particular wiki also supports RSS - really simple syndication, which will allow you to keep track of changes made to a particular page of interest. For more information about using this wiki, contact John Hendron. |
